Frequently
Asked
Questions

1 / Can I enroll my child at Mis Amiguitos Spanish Montessori at any time?

Yes, we offer open enrollment.

2 / How will I be informed of my child's progress at Mis Amiguitos?

We have a community via WhatsApp where all parents are connected and we post day-to-day, sometimes week-to-week, content of how students progress. We also send out a monthly newsletter so that parents are aware of what Montessori-approved themes and topics we discuss with our students.

3 / What makes the Montessori model different?

It promotes independence, self-confidence, exploring their curiosities, trial and error, etc.

In Montessori classrooms, students challenge themselves when they are ready, developing greater self-sufficiency and personal independence, and building an internal sense of purpose and motivation.

4 / What is the teacher to child ratio in your programs?

1:3, there is one teacher for every three students.

5 / Is there a deposit required for enrollment?

Yes, a deposit covers material purchased for activities and sometimes personal student use, like a binder and worksheets, a notebook, etc. Shared items would be crayons, books in Spanish, and documents that need to be printed as some examples.

6 / Does Mis Amiguitos provide food?

At Mis Amiguitos, meals are provided by parents. We ask that parents send their child's favorite foods and snacks in a lunch box or backpack with two tablecloth napkins, eating utensils, and enough water to last them from drop-off to pick-up.

7 / What is your sick policy?

We have a strict policy when it comes to students arriving to our program sick.

We ask that parents please seek medical attention or keep their child home if they are "not feeling like their usual self". At our program we consider a temperature of 99.0F to be the beginning stages of a fever and we ask parents to seek medical attention or keep their children home.

All children returning to the program after being out sick must return with a doctor's note stating they're safe to be around other children.

8 / Can you administer medication?

No, we are not licensed to administer medication.

9 / Does Mis Amiguitos carry insulin or EpiPens?

No, we do not have insulin or EpiPens but parents can provide one to keep at the program if their child has severe allergies or is diabetic.

10 / What certifications do the staff members have?

All staff members have CPR and First Aid training for both children and adults. We also take yearly classes required by the state to stay up-to-date on new policies and training, required by the state.
